Fasting with food?

Yes, we'll show you how

The ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet was inspired by 20 years of extensive research and clinical studies. It works by bypassing certain food-detecting paths, to keep your body in fasting mode – while still allowing you to eat.

Meet the Creator of the FMD

Valter Long, Ph.D

ProLon is the first and only clinically tested fasting meal programme. ProLon’s breakthrough nutri-technology was developed after years of research by Professor Valter Longo, Director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California. In 2018, TIME magazine named Professor Longo one of the 50 most influential people in healthcare.

Fasting Mimicking Diet vs
Intermittent Fasting vs Ketogenic Diet

Intermittent Fasting is a practice of water-based fasting, or eating less than 500-600 calories for a 24-hour period. Benefits may include weight loss and some metabolic balance. Its limitation is its need for frequency, and the duration isn’t long enough to initiate cellular renewal.

The Ketogenic Diet is rich in fat, low in carbs and normal/low in proteins. Benefits may include blood sugar balance and weight loss. Its limitation is that it needs to be observed every day for weeks. Furthermore, because of the protein levels featured, the body’s cells recognise that food is being consumed, and do not enter the deep fasting “stress” mode that is necessary to trigger autophagy (cellular clean-up).

The ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet is carefully designed to closely mimic fasting, providing weight, metabolic and cellular benefits which may promote healthy ageing. Each cycle lasts for just five days, with normal food consumed in between.

Scientific Breakthrough Technology

The ProLon FMD is the result of more than 20 years of extensive pre-clinical and clinical studies spearheaded by Professor Valter Longo. Funding contributors include the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Research collaborators include Mayo Clinic, Keck Hospital, Indiana University, Leiden University, University of Genoa, IFOM, University of Heidelberg, Milan University and other top global research centres.
